Being a freelancer is basically having a sense of freedom the advantages of being a freelancer is you are your own boss, you can see earnings rise dramatically some of the disadvantages are that you will not get paid for being sick leave or holidays or if your work drops off, an example freelance workers are It consultants on a freelance basis is unstoppable. There are three types of job roles within the creative media industry. Management, creative, and technical. A freelancer is hired by different industries Freelancers can negotiate your own rates with the companies who hire you. The disadvantages of being a freelancer is getting enough work to stay financially stable that's also another issue with freelancing getting enough money. 
Permanent jobs in the media would be jobs like marketing communication executive the required qualifications for this job is a  good working knowledge of Press and Media work to drive earned media for high profile wildlife rescue and campaigning organisation. having a good knowledge of attracting national and local media interest and the third sector. A permanent job in the media industry can have its disadvantages because in the media industry its quite competitive and it requires a lot of focus and experience.

Editor: Select, polish and refine what’s included in a particular publication, television series, film or website. Although their role will vary greatly between industries, it’s their job to commission and manage all aspects of content, and take responsibility for the end product.
what is required to be an editor, Excellent attention to detail, strong writing skills and an objective eye. You will also need to be deadline focused, and able to see the ‘big picture’. A passion for photography and a creative flair are essential to make it in this industry. You’ll also need to be efficient and work well under pressure when it comes to hitting deadlines.
