The client’s brief will tell you what type of digital media product they require from one of the following. A moving image, audio, digital publishing, a website, a digital game.

The digital media product I have chosen for my client is digital publishing, examples of digital publishing is an E magazine, newspaper, newsletter, games and blogs. My target audience for this would be aimed at a niche audience because in digital publishing it has the same assets involved in it but mainly I will be focusing on a certain digital publishing product for example, Electronic publishing includes the digital publication of e-books, digital magazines, and the development of digital libraries and catalogues.

The reason I have chosen to target a niche audience is because the product for instants could be a digital magazine which links to portability because you can access the digital magazine whenever you want because it can be opened on any device, but the digital magazine could be niche because the content used in the magazine could be aimed at a certain target audience for example the digital magazine called “falling behind” which is about protesting and war so this would be aimed at people who are passionate about protesting and human rights. This digital magazine would appeal more to young adults rather than young children I would say from the age range of 18 upwards.

The purpose of the digital publishing product is to inform and educate people that if a situation isn’t right they would protest against them, and because it’s a digital magazine not a paper magazine it would be more well-known and read because people access there devices everyday so then this would be national possibly international but its a digital magazine. Another purpose for a digital magazine is to inform educate and entertain and also to provide a service. Google is the leader of digital publishing , also you can see results such as adobe they created the most popular portable document file , some people may know it as PDF. The definition of digital publishing is connecting the community through arts and science communication , PDF isn't the best example of a digital publishing product another suitable example would be journals and blogs and advertisements , these best link to the purposes of digital publishing better.

The platform journals and blogs would be on is mircoblogs for instants twitter and blogs itself another platform would be cross format for example Facebook , MySpace and Google plus , the reason I would suggest these platforms is because they would reach a wider audience on these platforms because these platforms get the most clout and exposure for example Facebook have over 1 billion users each day and twitter still gets people downloading their app to this day. Other platforms digital publishing would be on is social networks because they connect with more people , also media sharing networks where you can share photos , videos and other media also blogging and publishing networks where you can publish the content online.
