This documentary is just a little taster about man who was once a teenager wrongly accused of rape and sentenced to over 18 years in prison was then left with nothing until the women that accused him of rape finally admitted he didn’t touch her and then he was realised and free to live his life like a free man he should of been 18 years ago . The man was just a normal guy enjoying himself at high school until him and this girl went into the closet and he claimed they just kissed but moments after this incident happened the guy was arrested for rape , when he claimed he never touched her the mother of the guy sued the school for 1M pounds and the guy Brain Banks was put behind bars for 18 years until the girl finally came forward and told the truth and said she made it all up , she said that guilt of him never seeing the light of day again when he never really did anything wrong, so then this report was then made into a small factual documentary on how a whole 18 years of his life was taken away from him for doing absolutely nothing wrong and he was so humble about it , he wasn't angry just very emotional about finally being free. when he finally was released he said it was "one of the best days of his life" , it was the work of a private investigator was exonerated of all his crimes.

this is a one off documentary about the wrongly convicted , it doesn't hasn't any series attached to it.

The purpose of this documentary was to educate and inform those that sometimes the government and police force accuse and arrest the wrong people and that man had 18years of his life taken away for absolutely no reason because he did nothing wrong he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and it goes to show how much that can affect your future.

The platform for broadcasting : this was streaming on YouTube and other online platforms such as 123movies etc. , from these platforms the footage moved to social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram , this footage received over 1 millions views because of how captivating the message of the story was to remember this man had 18 years of his life taken away just like that. It was mainly shown on youth which is a subscription platform where anyone can access it .

Target Audience : this documentary was mainly aimed at teenagers because the storyline was based on what happened to him when he was in high school , so the target audience is young adults the location would probably be America because this documentary was filmed and shot in America so that’s who it would mainly be aimed at in a sense so I would say the age of 15+ because of the content used in the documentary is not suited for younger viewers because its about rape and sexual abuse so the ages would vary from 15 upwards . This documentary is aimed at males preferably black because the victims of this documentary are black so the people most likely to watch it are black males.

This documentary is linear it has a beginning , middle and ending , the narrative structure is a biased documentary because the guy was wrongly convicted for and charges against him, for example at the beginning of the documentary they introduce the documentary as a whole , they talk about the people involved in the case such as the victim and all the people involved , then during the middle they then have narration explaining the case and what has been accruing over the past 18 years , and how it has affected the victims life , then what happens at the end is where he finally gets justice for being wrongly convicted for 18 years and the end really shows that sometimes the courts and evidence can be falsely stated or people can judge for your race or skin tone.

This documentary would be aimed at teenagers or young adults because it appealed to that age group because the prisoner was only 17 when he was falsely accused of raping a young girl , so I would say young adults with the ethnicity of black African American because the documentary is set in America, but from my point of view this documentary isn't age restricted or limited because , this documentary shows a lesson can be learned and it should appeal to all ages.
the techniques used in this documentary is the use of mise en scene , they showed and captured the location of where the documentary was mainly set , also the different camera shots that were captured such as close ups of the victim this was to show the viewers how he was feeling because he was locked up for 18 years , the camera also  captured the expression on his face.

The mode of address is that it was stated in a formal tone but has no boundaries so what the guy was saying was honest and true . This documentary is also educational  and the documentary states the point of view , in the documentary you have a narrator explaining what is happening and what is going to happen so you could say this documentary is one sided so it biased because of what they are trying to explain sometimes the police and authorities convict the wrong person. The key techniques that are used are reportage and interviews because in this documentary every point is made clear , they used a lot of hand held camera movement so the equipment used was quite informal. The directors job was too capture the realism of the documentary to make the viewers connect and engage with the storyline for example how one mistake could change your life for the worst.
The use reportage they follow up examples from the news , it refers back to the news and what happened in 1999 , how the guy had dreams of becoming a football player and then it was all taken away in just minutes of being falsely accused of something he didn't do but finally got justice for it and was released , they changed a news report into a documentary to possibly address racial issues.

The addresser is the narrator the addressee is the target audience so the basically the audience , and what they addressing to us is that sometimes in life the wrongly convicted one day have freedom and sometimes the jury and court can get it wrong , and that the system isn't all the most accurate. This documentary is subjective because personal opinions and statements and actual content.
